Ava started as a chatbot for a bank-backed private credit fund in California in early 2023 — an Accelerated Virtual Analyst built to help underwrite SBA 504 commercial mortgages and equipment financing using large language models. AVA was incorporated in California in March 2023, and AVA Credit Inc. followed in Ontario in May 2024. The company was named after its founding member, Ava.
